7.1 HYDRAULIC PUMP TROUBLESHOOTING

Possible Cause

Corrective Action

Transaxle won't run in straight line

Incorrect inflation on both sides.

Refer to the inflation pressure offered by the

manufacturer.

To prevent the control connection rod from bending, loosening,

or not adjusting.

Fix, adjust, or replace the control connection

rod.

By-pass valve isn’t closed completely.

Tighten the by-pass valve of the pump.

Inlet line leaks air.

Check the hydraulic lines and the connectors

of the hydraulic oil tank for oil suction of the

pump, ensure sealing.

There’s noise in the transaxle

Input speed is too high.

Adjust the input speed; normal minimum

speed is 1800 rpm, the maximal height is less

than 3600rpm.

Fluid oil is low or there’s some impurities in it.

Add oil to proper level or replace with new oil

High external overload.

Reduce vehicle load.

Air is present in the hydraulic system.

Release the air in the hydraulic system.

By-pass valve isn’t closed completely.

Tighten the by-pass valve of the pump.

The oil suction leaks air, the inlet line or the oil filter is clogged,

or the oil filter is damaged.

Check hydraulic lines, connectors, and other

external connections from hydraulic oil tank

for oil suction of the pump, ensure sealing.

There’s no driving force by the transaxle or the driving force is not enough

Engine speed is too low.

Adjust to proper speed.

The speed control connection rod of the transaxle is bending or

not adjusting.

Fix or replace the control connection rod.

The belt pulley slips or is damaged.

Fix or replace the belt and/or belt pulley.

Fluid oil is low or there’s some impurities in it.

Add oil or replace with new oil.

High external overload.

Reduce vehicle load.

The handle of by-pass valve isn’t disengaged completely.

Fix or reset the handle of by-pass valve.

Air is present in the hydraulic system.

Release the air in the hydraulic system.

The oil suction leaks air, the inlet line or the oil filter is clogged,

the oil filter is damaged, interior of the pump is damaged.

Check the hydraulic lines and the connectors

from hydraulic oil tank for oil suction of the

pump, ensure sealing and repairs of the pump.

The transaxle is overheating

There’s some debris on the surface of the pump, affecting the

heat elimination.

Cooling fan or radiator is damaged.

Fluid oil is low or there’s some impurities in it.

High external overload.

Air is present in the hydraulic system.

Clear the debris from around the pump and

the fan.

Fix or replace the fan.

Add oil or replace with new oil.

Reduce vehicle load.

Oil leakage of the pump

The sealing ring, washer, or the body is damaged.

Air is present in the hydraulic system.

Replace the damaged component.

Release the air in the hydraulic system.
